Mabel The DIG Dog: Bringing Calm And Mental Well-Being

Discover how Mabel, the beloved office dog at Data Image Group, is transforming the manufacturing workspace by boosting morale and supporting mental well-being.

Meet Mabel: The Heart-Warming Story Behind Data Image Group’s Office Dog

Hello! My name is Mabel, but everyone at Data Image Group calls me the DIG Dog. I’m a proud member of the team, and my role is very important: I bring tail wags, cuddles, and a little bit of controlled chaos to the workspace. I joined the team at HQ after winning everyone over with my signature puppy eyes and, to be honest, my ability to nap in the most inconvenient places. Clients love me too, especially when I greet them at reception with a wagging tail and a paw, and sometimes with a ball (hint, hint: I’m always up for a game).

When I’m not snoozing under a desk or making my rounds through the wide-format signage area, I’m making sure everyone’s stress levels are in check. I take my job as the resident mood-booster seriously; after all, a happy team prints the best displays!

The Science Of Canine Companionship: Mental Health Benefits In The Workplace

You might think I’m just here for the biscuits, but there’s actual science behind my presence. Studies show that having an office dog helps reduce stress and creates a calmer atmosphere. Whether you’re managing a high-stakes point-of-sale project or finalising a 3D display for a major brand, taking a moment to scratch behind my ears can lower blood pressure and help the mind reset.

I’m also a big fan of office walks, especially when someone needs to stretch their legs after a long session at the Esko Kongsberg C66. Those brisk rounds around the car park aren’t just great for my step count, they give my humans a much-needed break from the screen and help them return to their tasks feeling refreshed and inspired.

How Mabel Enhances Productivity And Team Spirit On The Manufacturing Floor

You’d be surprised at how much a wagging tail can do for morale. On busy days, when the team is working to deliver bespoke event graphics or packaging solutions, I make my rounds for quality control (mostly sniffing, but it counts). My presence encourages spontaneous chats, high-fives, and even a quick game of fetch across the car park, my personal favourite team-building exercise.

When the pressure’s on, my team knows they can count on me for a wag and a nuzzle. It’s amazing how a quick break with the DIG Dog can spark creative ideas for the next experiential retail display or Instagram-ready installation. I consider myself a key player in Data Image Group’s innovation strategy!

Employee Stories: Real-Life Experiences With Mabel’s Calming Presence

Clients have told me (well, they tell my humans, but I listen) that seeing a cheerful pup on site makes the whole environment more welcoming and memorable. Some even come prepared with treats, which is the sort of branding I can really get behind.

Bringing Paws To Production: Why More Manufacturers Should Welcome Office Dogs

From my perspective under the desk, more workplaces could benefit from a little canine energy. Office dogs aren’t just about cuddles and cute Instagram stories;  they’re about building a connected, resilient team that can tackle any project, from illuminated graphics to complex shop-in-shop campaigns.

If your workspace has room for a furry friend, I highly recommend giving it a try. Who knows? You might find your own productivity mascot! I’d love to hear from other office pets out there, does your team have a Mabel, or maybe a popular office cat or parrot? Let’s share our stories of paws, claws, (and maybe a few feathers) in the world of visual display!

Check back soon for my next blog, it's going to be PAWsome....
