Environmental graphics

A ceiling. A different perspective.

John Lewis

Working directly with John Lewis, we produced and installed acoustic panels throughout the Oxford store. Patterned overhead elements bring a distinctive graphic treatment to an often overlooked part of the retail environment. The ceiling becomes part of the visual experience, extending the design beyond walls and fixtures. The project combines a functional interior element with a recognisable decorative language, demonstrating how production can give an architectural surface a more expressive role.

The thinking behind the work

Look beyond the obvious surface.

For retail teams, an interior scheme needs to work as a whole. Data Image’s production and installation capabilities help carry a visual idea into physical components that sit within the store architecture. This project offers a useful starting point for considering how overhead features can contribute to a coordinated branded environment.
