Information about cookies and your choices on this website.
This policy explains what cookies are, which ones this website uses, how we count visits and how you can change your choices at any time. It sits alongside our privacy notice, which explains how we use personal information more generally.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and visits, such as a choice you’ve made. In this policy, ‘cookies’ also covers similar technologies, such as pixels and the storage built into your browser.
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), we must ask for your consent before using a cookie that isn’t strictly necessary to provide the website. Since February 2026 there has been an exception for counting visits: a website may do this for its own statistics, to improve the site, without asking first, as long as it tells you and gives you a simple way to say no.
How we use cookies
We use cookies and browser storage in four ways:
Strictly necessary: a record of your choices, so that we can respect them without asking you on every page. The website doesn’t need anything else stored to work.
Visit counting, on unless you switch it off: we count the pages people view, how far down each page they get, the buttons they press, the questions and filters they use, which fields stop an enquiry form being sent (never what was typed in them) and how each visit reached the site, so that we can improve it. This uses no cookie and no identifier in your browser. Our server keeps a scrambled form of your IP address with each page counted, not the address itself, so that we can tell how many different visitors there were. For the length of a visit, your browser remembers the first page you saw, any campaign label on the link you followed and the name of the website that sent you.
Analytics, only with your consent: your browser keeps a random identifier, so that we can recognise it on a later visit and see which visits led to an enquiry. We also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies (listed in our cookie policy) and gives us figures on how the site is used.
Marketing, only with your consent: if you arrive from one of our adverts, your browser keeps the advert’s click reference for that visit, so that we can measure how well our advertising works.
Analytics and marketing stay switched off until you accept them. Visit counting stays on until you switch it off, which you can do at any time. Whatever you choose, the website works in just the same way.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request not to be counted, and visit counting starts switched off.

Visit counting. Remember the first page you saw on this visit, any campaign label on the link you followed and the name of the website that sent you (not the page on it), so that the visit, and an enquiry you send during it, is counted under the right source. Not stored when visit counting is switched off.

Analytics, only with your consent. Google Analytics: a random identifier that lets Google count visits and pages for us over time. Google processes it under its own privacy terms, which may involve a transfer outside the UK with the usual safeguards. Not set, and removed, when analytics is switched off.

Your choices
When you first visit, a banner tells you that we count visits and asks whether you’re also happy for us to use analytics and marketing cookies. You can accept or decline, or open ‘Cookie settings’ to choose each one separately and to switch visit counting off.
You can change your mind at any time using the button below, or ‘Cookie settings’ at the foot of every page. Your new choices apply straight away: when you switch something off, we stop and remove what it had stored in your browser.
We’ll show you the banner again after 12 months. If you clear your browser’s storage, the record of your choices is removed and we’ll show it on your next visit.
Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you see which cookies are stored, delete them one by one or all together, and block cookies from particular websites or from every website. You’ll find these controls in your browser’s settings or help pages.
Blocking all cookies can stop some websites working properly. On this website, it only means your choices can’t be remembered, so we’ll show you the banner again on each visit.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this policy when the cookies we use change, or when the law does. The latest version will always be on this page.
This policy was last updated on 5 October 2026.
